About Fine Tuned

After working for large music shops for several years, I realized that I wanted to be able to provide more to my customers than what they were being offered by the big companies! I believe that quality repairs shouldn’t cost a fortune. And so, Fine Tuned was created in 1994 and has been providing quality repairs at fair and reasonable prices ever since.

All customers are seen by appointment only, ensuring that every customer gets the individual attention they deserve and does not feel rushed.

We all know that instruments can be very costly and that can get in the way of children being given the opportunity to play. Fine Tuned can help parents find good quality instruments at affordable prices and then continue to keep the instrument in good working order.

Today, Fine Tuned services Musician’s Workshop music store in Central Jersey, a local school, high school band students, performers from many local community bands and recently expanded into servicing customers in the Poconos.

Prices

Bench Fees – $20.00 minimum
Estimates are free – No calls are made if the cost is $40.00 or under. The work will just be completed.

Woodwind Instruments

Playing conditions are priced off of an hourly rate of $45.00.

Repads- include taking the instrument apart, taking all old pads and corks off, cleaning body and keys ( does NOT include polishing), replacing all corks and pads

These include eb soprano, eb alto, bb bass

Saxophone

Sop Sax - $300

Brass Instruments

Trumpet

Basic service includes pulling all slides and valves, cleaning all slides and valves and casing, replacing water key corks, any felts that need to be replaced or valve guides, and lubricating the slides and valves when putting them back.
Brass - $80
Silver - $110
Additional services charged on an hourly basis.

Trombone

Minor services include cleaning inner and outer slides, minor dent work on bell, minor realigning of slide, replacing water key cork - $85
Major slide work and major dent work is sent out and priced accordingly.

Excellent Working Condition

The owner and operator of Fine Tuned is not only a professional at what she does, she goes out of her way to help those of us who are not musically inclined. I wanted to purchase a flute for my granddaughter as she is just beginning to explore her musical talents. Terri not only provided us with a gently used flute, but rented it with an option to buy. Too she ensured that the flute was in excellent working condition and provided a generous payment plan. (Much less than what we would have paid through the school program). She periodically does “checks” on the flute to ensure it is in good working condition and has even gone out of her way to provide my granddaughter with a private lesson or two. This is definitely one business that you want to do business with.
